Enjoy a 4 Days Rwanda game safari to Akagera National park, the only savannah park in the Land of a Thousand Hills. Located in Eastern Rwanda, Akagera National park is a hidden gem. The savannah park is home to the big five game and other wild animals both grazers, hunters and browsers.Guided day and night game drives offer you scenic views of wild animals such as Zebras, Giraffes, Lins, Leopards, Rhinos, Hippos, Topis, Elands, Kobs, Antelopes, Waterbucks, Warthogs and Giant Forest hogs among others. Akagera Park also shelters over 480 bird species 100 of which are not found anywhere else in the whole of Rwanda. The notable birds in Akagera include African Fish Eagle, Black Headed genolok, Marabou Stork, Sooty Chat, Booted eagle, Ruaha Chat, Caspian Plover, Lesser jacana, Short tailed pipit, Crested Berbet, Marsh Owl, Martial Eagle and Blue Spotted wood dove among others. Sport fishing at Lake Shakani is also a not miss on your Rwanda safari in Akagera National Park. Vegetation cover in Akagera National park entail woodlands, mountains, swamps and savannahs which provide food and habitat for animals inhabited there. The park spreads on 1,122 square kilometers of land comprising the largest wetland in central Africa on the borders of Rwanda and Tanzania.

Akagera National park is jointly managed by African Parks and Rwanda Development Board since 2009 under the 20 years renewable agreement. The partnership between 2 bodies has enabled the reintroduction of black rhinos and lions in Akagera National Park making it home to the “big five game”.
On this 4 Days safari, endeavour to take part in Kigali city tour to visit the genocide memorial sites, kimironko market, Kigali Convention Centre, Inema Art Gallery and other tourist destinations in the city centre.
The top activities done in Akagera National park include game viewing, boat cruising, sport fishing, camping, scenic viewing, bird watching, nature/forest walking, community tours and behind the scenes experience. Game safaris in Akagera National Park are normally done together  with other activities such as gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park and chimpanzee tracking/canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Day 1: Airport pick-up
On arrival at Kigali airport, our company representative will pick you and transfer to the lodge for a rest. Overnight stay at Mille Colline / Kigali Serena Hotel / The Manor Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera national park
After breakfast transfer transfer to Akagera national park for an afternoon boat cruise on lake Ihema. Expect to see buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos, numerous water birds among others. Overnight stay at Akagera Safari Lodge

Day 3: Game drive in Akagera national park
After a morning breakfast enjoy a game drive in Akagera national park. Expect to encounter some members of the Big Five including the Hippos, elephants, buffaloes, etc; giraffes, warthogs, waterbucks and different antelope species. Overnight stay at Akagera Safari Lodge.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali
On reaching Kigali, visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial site, the handicrafts shops, etc. Later our tour guide will transfer you to Kigali airport for you scheduled flight.
