Day 1: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes NP
Have a Kigali city tour visiting the genocide memorial, local markets and other places of interest. Later transfer to Volcanoes National Park arriving early enough for a rest at your Lodge. The drive time from Kigali to Volcanoes Park is roughly 3 hours via rolling hills, farms, towns and local communities. The gorilla park is the most easy to reach gorilla destination in Africa, one of the reasons why it’s popular or short time visitors. Day 2: Gorilla Trek & Departure
On this most anticipated day you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing on the guidelines of gorilla trekking. You will also be registered,grouped together and allocated a gorilla family to visit. The real trek to meet mountain gorillas begins at 8″00-am and can last up to 8 hours depending on where the gorillas are located. The search for gorillas up and down hill is strenuous but the magical feeling of meeting gorillas is worth the energy. Hike for 2 to 6 hours and once you get to the gorillas stay in their presence for an hour and later return for a transfer back to Kigali.
