The 3 days Mgahinga gorilla tour begins and ends in Kigali. The drive distance between Kigali and Mgahinga National Park 133 KM ( 3 hrs 13 Mins). Earlier before the Nyakagyezi gorilla group used to be a trans-border family that roams between the 3 national parks, Mgahinga, Volcanoes in Rwanda and Virunga in DR Congo. For the last 7 years this group has lived permanently in Ugandan side. Besides gorillas, the golden monkeys tracking is a worthwhile activity in the park.

Day 1: Transfer from the Airport
Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by our professional tour guide who will drive north of Rwanda to Mgahinga National Park viewing spectacular scenery of the Virunga Mountains en route. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gahinga Lodge / Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge / Lake Chahafi Safari Lodge
Day 2: Gorilla tracking
Take your breakfast and head to the park headquarters with packed lunch to be briefed about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas then proceed to track the gorillas. You will be allowed to spend an hour with the endangered gorillas to learn and enjoy their company. Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gahinga Lodge / Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge / Lake Chahafi Safari Lodge
Day 3: Kigali city tour
After breakfast, you will head for a city tour around Kigali such as the genocide site and other historical sites depending on the time of your flight.
