Queen Elizabeth National park in western Uganda is another destination you will visit on this 7 Days safari. The park spreads on 1.978 square kilometers of land and it’s the second largest park in Uganda after Murchison Falls National park. While in Queen Elizabeth, take part in guided game viewing and boat cruising experience. The park shelters a high concentration of wild animals such as Elephants, Lions, Hyenas, Leopards,Hippos, Crocodiles, Uganda kobs, Elands, Topis and waterbucks among others. The boat cruise offers you great views of wildlife and birds seen on the river banks.
You will also visit Kibale Forest National park home to the highest population of chimpanzees in East Africa. The park spreads on 776 square kilometers located in western Uganda. Batooro and Bakiga are the common tribes of people living near Kibale Forest National park. Kibale was gazetted in 1932 but was established into a park in 1993. In addition to chimpanzees, Kibale Forest shelters 12 other primates which include Vervet monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Red tailed monkeys, L’Hoest Monkeys, Olive baboons, Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Uganda Red Colobus, Demidoff Galago, Pottos, Uganda Mangabeys, Black and White tailed monkeys.
The rain forest is also home to over 350 bird species which make it a paradise for bird watchers. Some of the notable birds to see in Kibale Forest include Slender Billed Weaver, African Pied Wagtail, Great Billed Turaco, Pin tailed whydah, African Pitta, African bee eater and Ruwenzori apalis among others. A nature walk in Bigodi wetland offers you a true feeling of a natural environment and encounters with local people. Brief Itinerary
Day 01: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes Park.
Day 02: Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes – back to Rwanda

Day 1: Morning Kigali city tour and afternoon transfer to Volcanoes National park
In the morning at 9:00am, you will be picked from the hotel by the guide/driver, who will take you for a city tour. You will visit the genocide memorial museum, the first house, the national museum among others. After lunch in Kigali, you will drive to Volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla view Lodge (Luxury)/La Palme Hotel (Deluxe)/Kinigi guest house (Budget).
In the morning, you will go to the park headquarters by 8:30 am with parked lunch for briefing before you embark on the memorable adventure in the forest. You will be back by mid-day-2:00pm. Have refreshments at hotel/lunch and later set off for Uganda, crossing via Chanika border. Dinner and overnight at Birdnest/ Bunyonyi Resort.
Early morning, you will have your breakfast and set off to QENP by 7:30am. You will drive slowly via Ruhija reaching Ishasha sector by 11:00 am to have game drives where you may be opportune to see the tree climbing lions. Continue to QENP reaching early enough for lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge. After lunch, you will enjoy a boat cruise at 4pm along the Kazinga channel where you will see lots of bird species, crocodiles, hippos, buffalos, and elephants among others. Embark to the lodge for refreshment, dinner and overnight stay at Kyambura game lodge (Luxury)/Ihamba Lodge (Deluxe)/Kingfisher lodge (Budget).
In the morning, you will go for game drives, where you will see games like lions, bushbucks, antelopes, elephants, water hogs among others. Go back to the hotel for a late breakfast, and relax at the poolside as you wait for your lunch. After lunch, set off to Kibale national park, home of over 13 primate species. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge (Luxury)/Mountains of the moon hotel (Deluxe)/Chimps nest lodge (Budget).
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and afternoon nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary
In the morning, you will go for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest National Park, where you will stay until midday. You will have lunch at Chimps nest lodge and in the afternoon, go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary, where you will encounter a variety of birds and animals. You later drive back to Fort Portal, and if still early and strong, you may visit the “Amabeere ganyina Mwiru” and the king’s palace. Dinner and overnight stay (Day 4).
Day 6: Transfer to Kampala
In the morning after breakfast, you drive back to Kampala, with en route visit to Nakayima tree in Mubende, a historical tree, stop over for photography, reaching Kampala in the evening for dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel (Luxury)/Cassia Lodge (Deluxe)/Landmark view Hotel (Budget).
Day 7: City Tour and Departure
In case your departure flight is in the evening, you will have a morning city tour around Kampala, where you will visit the Namugongo Shrines, where the Uganda martyrs were burnt alive for refusing to denounce their Christian faith, the National Museum, bahai temple, Gadafhi Mosque, the local markets, Kasubi tombs among others. In the afternoon, transfer to Entebbe airport for your departure flight. End of Safari.
