The 4 days Rwanda gorilla safari is a great tour option that features gorilla trekking twice. The 4 days involve 2 gorilla treks to see two different gorilla families in Volcanoes National Park. Altogether, bamboo forest national park contains 10 gorilla families which have been habituated for travelers.
These gorilla families are Susa A, Karisimbi, Titus, Agashya, Umubano, Kwitonda, Amahoro, Pablo, Sabyinyo and Bwenge gorilla groups. You will trek on two separate days spending an hour with the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitats. Yu will require two gorilla permits each at $1500 to allow you see the gorillas.
Volcanoes National park is ranked the top gorilla destination in the Virunga Conservation Area sheltering the high population of mountain gorillas. The park is bordered by Mgahinga Gorilla National park in Uganda with one 1 gorilla family and Virunga National park in the Democratic Republic of Congo with 8 gorilla families. The 4 Days safari also entail golden monkey trekking to see the endangered golden monkeys.
The park is the only place to see golden monkeys in the whole of Rwanda.
A permit to trek golden monkeys in Rwanda costs $100 for an hour’s interaction with the gorillas. You will also visit the Gorillas Guardian Village for a cultural tour to learn and experience the traditions, norms and customs of Rwanda people. A lot of cultural activities such as dressing as bride and groom, preparing local foods, weaving baskets, dancing and singing are performed to tell you more about Rwanda. The 4 Days safari will begin in a city tour in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. Kigali is ranked as the most clean city in Africa with different tourism centres such as the Kigali genocide museums, art galleries, conference centres and local markets among other attractions.
If you have extended time in Volcanoes National park, you can do other exciting activities such as mountain climbing to the summit of Mt Karisimbi and Mt Bisoke. Mt Karisimbi is the highest volcano (4,507m) in the Virunga Massif which can hiked in two days while Mt Bisoke (3,711m) can be hiked in one day. Bird watching is another interesting activity done in Volcanoes National Park with over 200 bird species living there. Dian fossey graveyard, Musanze caves, Bulera and Buhondo twin lakes are other attractions in Volcanoes National Park. The 4 Days safari will be taolored and guided by Africa Adventure Safaris

Day 1: Kigali City & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Start the day with a Kigali city tour visiting the genocide memorial, local market and other places of interest. You will then exit the park for a transfer to Volcanoes National Park arriving early enough for a rest and can later go for walk or cycling. Day 2: First Gorilla Trek & Cultural Visit
Go to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla tracking and then proceed to the park. You will hike for 2 to 6 hours and once you meet the gorillas stay in their presence for an hour and later return for a rest at your lodge. In the evening you can go for a cultural visit where you will discover more about the local people’s culture. Day 3: 2nd Gorilla Trek & Kayaking

In the evening you can go for Kayaking along river Mukungwa. Day 4: Golden Monkey Trek & Departure
